Today Warner Bros announced what Batman fans had been waiting for since Arkham City was released, news of where the series was going following the somewhat shock announcement that Rocksteady would not be producing the next game. Rocksteady have however given there blessing to Warner Bros Montreal who are developing the prequel to the Batman Arkham franchise.
With Origins being a prequel it does lead to numerous possibilities about who will feature in the game, something Warner Bros are keeping close to their chest at this stage. They did however state that it will be taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals. This could indicate that we are unlikely to see The Joker in this title, especially as Mark Hammill having stated that Arkham City would be his last representation of the Prince of Crime.
Warner Bros go on to state that as the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships. This could include Commissioner Gordon and may also include Barbara Gordon who was featured as The Oracle in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
So what do you guys think, are you happy to with the announcement?
